Apart from operating the Roo Rentals site showing furnished property to rent in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide, I, Vincent Woodall, am a qualified practicing mortgage broker, having a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management and I am a member of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), COSL and I am also a sales agent for Lin Andrews Real Estate Morphett Vale. Lin Andrews Real Estate have been established for over 40 years in Adelaide.
So once you have decided that you want to move forward and live in either an unfurnished, leased property or that you would like to buy your first home in Adelaide please give me, Vincent Woodall, a call on 0451 596 575. At our Lin Andrews franchise in Morphett Vale, we manage properties for over 80 landlords and every week we are asked to manage yet more properties for landlords. We also obviously sell property and we also have a relationship with various builders of differing sizes who can build your first home for you and we can also find good quality properties for you before they are advertised. Many new homes in Adelaide are built on large estates with small gardens which may not suit everyone coming to Australia. With some of the larger builders offering a new build many items are not included in the build price and a house listed for $107,000 can quite easily end up costing over $200,000 to build once all the “extras” have been taken into account.
When I first came to Adelaide in August 2010, I, my wife and our three daughters stayed at “The Kookaburra” (one of the fully furnished rental properties shown on this site) in Morphett Vale. It had everything we wanted during our stay of three weeks, but I think we were lucky, and many people told us as much, to find an unfurnished lease property in Noarlunga Downs within a month of our arrival. However, our furniture and the bulk of our home contents did not even leave England until a month after our arrival in Adelaide and took a further two months to arrive in Adelaide. It was an expensive time buying a kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, towels, beds and bedding, furniture etc., etc., etc., to keep us going until out household contents arrived. This is one area you should give great thought to or it can be a very expensive oversight as I learnt from my own experience. One answer might be to look for furnished accommodation for a longer period than we did until you know your worldly goods have arrived in Adelaide.
Some people stay in furnished accommodation, bed and breakfast hotels or caravan parks in the UK until their household contents have arrived in Australia. Others move into rented accommodation in Adelaide until they are able to find an unfurnished property in Adelaide. Whatever you decide, be it to live in a caravan even, until you leave the UK, I cannot stress enough how important it is to get the timing right for your big move.
